The Team

The Business Intelligence Team directly reports to the CEO’s Office at WeWork India. We strongly believe that data sits at the center of our business, providing insights into the effectiveness of our physical and digital products & features. The intent of the BI & Analytics team is to power the growth of the company by supplying the right insights and enabling teams as well as the Leadership to take the best decision for the organization.

The focus of the BI Team at WeWork India has been on building the right dashboards that provide data that can not only be consumed but can also be actioned upon. With some of the base work completed, the BI Team is now focused on more intuitive dashboards and data that would centralize all reporting and utilization of data in the organization.

About the role

As an Analyst, you will assist in solving org-wide problems with the rigorous analysis of our data based on sound mathematical techniques/fundamentals. To do well in this role you need a very fine eye for detail, experience as a business data analyst, and deep understanding of the popular data analysis tools and databases, with the goal of providing the insights required to power our organization’s growth. The role will also require some knowledge of data engineering and exploring the source systems from which data flows into our central data warehouses. You will also have the opportunity to work on developing new products and analytics projects that are based on the data in our systems (combine internal and external data)

You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams and leadership to collect and analyze the data from various sources. Particularly important to the role is the ability to communicate effectively and to maintain open lines of communication with team members and stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Refine ambiguous questions and generate new hypotheses about the product through a deep understanding of the data, our customers, and our business
• Design experiments and interpret the results to draw detailed and impactful conclusions.
• Define how our teams measure success, by developing Key Performance Indicators and other users/business metrics, in close partnership with Product and other subject areas such as engineering, operations and marketing
• Develop data-driven business insights and work with cross-functional partners to find opportunities and recommend prioritization of product, growth, and optimisation initiatives.

Experience and Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or related field with an emphasis on data analytics.
• Responsible for design, development and deployment of analytics solutions and automation tools for Optimization and predictive models - 
• Ability to understand a business problem and the available data and identify what statistical or ML techniques can be applied to answer a business question.
• 3+ Years professional experience, preferably in a data analyst / data scientist role or similar, with proven results in a data analyst role.
• Build statistical models/ ML models, train and test them to and drive towards the optimal level of model performance.
• Coding experience in Python/R, Statistics, SQL, Understanding of ML algorithms and usage to drive insights. A strong level of proficiency in Python is preferable
• Proven aptitude toward Data Storytelling and Root Cause Analysis using data
• Ability to learn and adapt to new methodologies for data collection and analysis
• Ability to deliver on tight timelines and prioritise multiple tasks while maintaining quality and detail
• Ability to mentor, coach and develop junior team members
• Self-starter that takes initiative and is driven by new challenges
• Strong work ethic and rigorous attention to detail
• Strong communicator with ability to present concepts, recommendations and analyses to senior management in a clear, concise and actionable manner
• Demonstrated success in team collaboration; ability to work well cross-functionally
• Passion for learning and relentless improvement; able to work comfortably under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
