Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety policies and standards are effectively integrated within the business and aligned with the company structure, purpose and applicable legislation
  • Providing competent H&S advice to the business and facilitating compliance with the applicable statutory requirements
  • Working collaboratively with various teams including Community, Facilities, Product, People, Security, IT, F&B, etc. to ensure our spaces are maintained clean, hazard-free, healthy and safe at all times
  • Facilitating the implementation of the Health & Safety Management system across the region
  • Ensuring the training needs are identified and necessary training programs are organized for the various job roles
  • Implementing a H&S auditing process that is aligned with business culture and policies and ensuring learning-based outcomes from the auditing process
  • Implementing an executive reporting process that ensures the leadership team is clear on risks, noncompliance, and best practices
  • Supporting the fit-out process for new buildings relating to the H&S process and policy
  • Investigating, report keeping and promptly informing the management of any H&S incidents and facilitating corrective and preventive actions to prevent a recurrence
  • Promoting and driving the implementation of a positive H&S culture that is aligned with the core values of WeWork


Experience and Qualification

  • Any one of the following educational qualifications:
    • Bachelors/Masters degree in Health & Safety (full-time courses) (or)
    • Diploma in Industrial Safety (full-time) from RLI / CLI (or) 
    • NEBOSH General Certificate
  • 4-8 years of experience in Health and Safety or related field
  • Good understanding of the National Building Code and compliance
  • Good understanding of country safety legislation and compliance law
  • Proven track record of safety management within the facilities industry, covering Operational projects along with construction/fit-out projects
  • Experience in implementing a Safety Management System in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience dealing with local authorities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Experience driving a safety culture in the following operational environments:
    • Facility management
    • Cleaning, Preventative Maintenance
    • Events
    • Building Safety compliance (fire alarms, water hygiene, lifts, fire extinguishers, F&B, etc.).
    • Refurbishment works and fit-out projects
